Watch the performance

The main theme of this project is an attempt to define the identity of the accursed social groups of our city. The performance tells the story of Lodz and those who were born here. It's the story of the city cut in half. "Derby.White-and-Red" is a tale of two football fan tribes living in Lodz, about their spiritual struggles and social frustrations, their ethos and personal pride, the specific patriotism and cursed heroes. But not only about that. In our performance the journalist sensation turns into a romantic drama, and sport report into metaphorical parable. We can see the signs of this endless war on the walls in each town in our country. We assume that these club signs painted on the walls are made by some agresive, demonic hooligans. But these signs, using patriotic polish uprising symbols or the Star of David contain forces, fears and hopes of the community, reaching much further and deeper in space and in time then just here and now. Therefore this performance is a symbolic attempt of overpassing the divisions, and a real attempt of looking over the other side of a wall. We will try to understand the people who we are afraid to know, and who create the identity and spirit of Lodz.

Życzenia

2016!

01.01.2016
CHOREA Theatre

Jesteśmy twórczy i cholernie zdolni. Wena nas nie opuszcza. Pomysły eksplodują. Dobrze organizujemy. Dobrze realizujemy. A jeśli chodzi o ludzi - to mamy do nich ogromne szczęście.

Przesyłamy wielkie dzięki dla Teatru Pinokio, Teatru Szwalnia, Grupy KIJO, Pracowni Fizycznej, Łódzkiej Filmówki, Studia TONN, Teatru Nowego, Teatru KANA, neTTheatre, Teatru BRAMA, Teatru Realistycznego, Sweet Jesus Creatives, Harmony Art, Pawłowi Klepaczowi, Katarzynie Jasińskiej (GRA-FIKA), Uniwersytetowi Powszechnemu im. Jana Józefa Lipskiego w Teremiskach, Instytutowi Teatralnemu, Łódzkiemu Domowi Kultury, Arturowi Grabowskiemu, Maciejowi Trzebeńskiemu, Tomkowi Krukowskiemu, Marcinowi Dobijańskiemu - za wspaniałe twórcze spotkania i pracę w 2015.

Dziękujemy Wszystkim za dialog w teatrze. Życzymy Wam i sobie dużo wolności, poczucia bezpieczeństwa, swobody wypowiedzi, sensu i pasji w życiu i w twórczości.

"VIDOMI - Kontynuacje" w Szczecinie i Bydgoszczy

"VIDOMI - Continuation" in Szczecin and Bydgoszcz

18-20.12.2015
Kana Theatre in Szczecin, MCK in Bydgosz

On December 18th we will perform "Vidomi” in Kana Theatre in Szczecin. On December 19th we will lead music and dance workshops in Specjalny Ośrodek Szkolno-Wychowawczy nr 1 in Bydgoszcz, and on December 20th we wil perform „Vidomi” in Miejskie Centrum Kultury in Bydgoszcz. Workshops and performances will take place in terms of "VIDOMI - Continuation" project.

Project leaders: Janusz Adam Biedrzycki, Magda Paszkiewicz, Joanna Filarska

The project involves a series of theatre, movement, dance and music workshops for blind and visually-impaired young people, and performing the professional performance "VIDOMI".

The main aim of the workshops is to develop body awareness of the participants, to improve their orientation in space, and to teach them techniques of free and smooth motion, to give them selfconfidence and trust by working with others and working in the group. The workshop activities include methods of intensive development of the whole body and voice, and creative improvisation techniques. Through workshops based on working with the body, voice and partner, young people overcame their barriers and limitations, and they are breaking the stereotypes associated with functioning of the blind and visually impaired people in the society.

The performance "VIDOMI" is an attempt to answer the question of what seeing is and what it is not. Do we realize the meaning of the sense of sight? By confronting the visually-impaired with the sighted, we are trying to develop alternative techniques of work, that will cross the physical limitations. We use the synergy of impulses – words, sounds, touch, movement – to create our own language for communication. We are learning to see with our whole bodies, and discover the world based on a different kind of seeing, which does not have to be limited by a physical impairment or the blindness of the mind, or by stereotypical judgments. This kind of work in theatre lets us go beyond the borders which the society puts in front of us in our everyday lives. Theatre becomes a medium, in which differences between us become a tool for creating the reality together. Visual impairment does not need to mean life in the dark. And how do you see it?

Performance description
A system is like a labyrinth without an exit. Trying to search for a human in it, we come across a one hidden under a layer of mechanical behaviour, racks and facades that it takes on every day. Basic definitions and statements are lost in the flow of informative stimulants coming in from all sides. We search for a balance between a mechanical and alive being. We struggle against a system, which has absorbed us so much that it changes the shape and boundaries of a human being. How not to get mechanized? The answear /Not found yet/.

About the project
Take Over: Seeing young audiences through young people’s eyes is an international project which gathers the performing arts venues Bios (Greece), Chorea Theatre (Poland), Kolarac (Republic of Serbia) and Teatro Limonaia (Italy) which will re-imagine artistic programmes from the point of view of young adults (18-28). The challenge for venues is to produce a cultural offer that is attractive, creative, up-to-date and/or interactive in order to remain relevant to young adults.

Project lead in years 2014-2017 by British Council (UK) realized within the European Commission program "Creative Europe".
